Hello Kitty You're so Pretty!

This was a Hello Kitty themed party with mini cupcakes and 6" cake.

The cake was covered in fondant with a marshmallow Hello Kitty lollipop topper.  The side of the cake was embellished with Hello Kitty rings and fondant cutouts and placed on top of a 3 tier cupcake tower.

The cupcake tower was the center piece of the Hello Kitty candy bar.

Marshmallow Hello Kitty!

I made this cake and matching mini cupcakes for Gianna who turned 5 years old along with her twin brother Mark (who's cake you will see on my next entry).  The main requirement Gianna requested for this cake was to have a marshmallow Hello Kitty on topper.  Luckily I was able to find this marshmallow Hello Kitty lollipop at Walgreens to use as the topper, these suckers were hard to find.

Gianna's cake was an 8" yellow cake filled with fresh strawberries and whipping cream.  I rolled out balls of fondant for the border in different pastel colors.  I decorated the side of the cake by cutting out flower shapes and sticking hello kitty rings on the side.  I also cut out circles and added the number 5 all around the cake.

The mini cupcakes were simply topped off with mini flowers in the same pastel colors as the cake.

Hello Maya!

This cake was for another one of my daughter's BFFs turning 4.  Maya had a Hello Kitty themed tea party for her Birthday.  All her friends were served lemonade in tea cups and sandwiches and were given gloves, hats, and boas.

This was a 10" chocolate cake with fresh strawberries and whipping cream as the filling.  The whole cake was covered in pink fondant.  The flowers where made using white fondant colored by brushing on pink, blue, and green petal dust.  The center of each flower had white sugar pearls.  Hello Kitty and the number 4 were made out of gum paste.

NiaCake's 1st Birthday

I had a Hello Kitty themed 1st Birthday Party for my younger daughter Nia back in February.  I decided to put my cake decorating skills to the test by making a 6" cake and about 75 cupcakes and mini cupcakes for her party.  I made a cupcake tower using foam board and cement glue trimming it with decorative ribbon as well as the toothpick cupcake toppers to match the theme.  The cupcake flavors were a strawberry cake with whipping cream,  chocolate sour cream cake with cream cheese frosting, and an almond butter cake with butter cream.
